The native American longhouse was a wonderful meeting place for members of the tribe. I have fortunately had opportunities to photograph several different lodges. Native American artwork is generally incorporated into the design and function of the building: totemic wall panels and carved door handles grace this interior. The community longhouse holds functions blessed by dance performances. Some may think it is a stretch for me to consider the longhouse as a theater, but its use meets my definition.
